We did it!
Another orbit around the Sun is almost complete! To our planet, 2025 might have been just another spin, but from our human perspective, it was a year packed with activities, events, and progress. Thousands of you already submitted your soil samples, and the ECHO labs haven’t had a moment of peace in weeks!
It’s time to sit back and admire the results of all this hard work. Grab a cup of cocoa, or perhaps a glass of glögg, glühwein or bombardino, and launch the ECHOREPO website! |
| |
All across Europe, volunteers like you have been collecting soil samples and sending them back to our labs. There, all your efforts are converted into data! By accessing ECHOREPO, you can gain in-depth insight into soil conditions everywhere a sample has been taken. Whether you’re a scientist, landowner, farmer, or just a concerned member of the public, we hope this data will help everyone make better soil-related decisions in the future!

Annual ECHO Meeting |
|
Taking part in an international project has its ups and downs. There are many advantages: in our case, the biggest one is our ability to “cover more ground” :) It’s also a great opportunity to collaborate with a variety of passionate people from many different backgrounds. However, it also means that we rarely get to meet in person. That’s why we make sure to gather our entire ECHO team at least once a year! This time, our annual meeting took place in Dundee, Scotland, where we assessed our current progress and future developments but also took some time to take in some breathtaking views! |

Cheers to our peers! |
|
Every time we receive photos from our Ambassadors, it’s like opening a mailbox to find a postcard from a friend! We’re very grateful for their involvement in our project and celebrate their effort on Ambassador Mondays on our social media. Thank you for rolling up your sleeves and motivating not just yourselves, but also plenty of potential soil enthusiasts :) |

Meet the family! |
|
In this issue, we’re celebrating another Horizon Europe initiative: HuMUS, the Healthy Municipal Soils project! After three years of hard work and dedication, the project is drawing to a close. HuMUS has involved 18 partners from 8 European countries, all in the service of protecting and restoring soil health, stimulating social innovation, and involving a wide spectrum of stakeholders: over 50,000 of them! The HuMUS project is an excellent example of how to identify and solve soil-related problems. Thank you for all of your hard work! |
