Welcome back! We hope 2024 has been treating you well so far!

In this issue of the ECHO Newsletter, you'll read about all the ways our project has been growing. We've been expanding our reach through collaborations, strenghtening our roots with the Advisory Board and planting new ideas through workshops in the field.

You'll also find out how you can join us as an ECHO Ambassador. Stay tuned for more ways to get involved in the project!

We're proud to have the support of external experts who can provide current knowledge, give us advice and help us explore new opportunities. ECHO will benefit from the external input of a SOIL HEALTH Advisory Board (SHAB). The SHAB will be consulting us on the implementation of specific project activities, aiding us in co-designing initiatives, as well as promoting synergies with relevant initiatives and stakeholders. Meet the members of the Board here:

Time to get to work!
With the arrival of our green shovels, the ECHO Soil Kit is starting to take shape. Since the project began, we've been perfecting a set of tools necessary to achieve our goal of collecting soil samples all over Europe. Watch us unpack the very first batch and test it out in the field!

For projects funded under EU Mission: A Soil Deal for Europe networking is crucial. We work together towards achieving the Mission Soil objectives. ECHO is one of the 29 projects funded under the Work Program 2021-2022. Our cooperation develops thanks to monthly meetings of the Communication & Stakeholder Engagement Cluster. ECHO cooperates with, among others, NATI00NS (we took part in national events in Italy, Greece, Germany), CURIOSOIL (promoting the Project's Community of Practice) and NBSoil when promoting soil projects in Poland.

ECHO Ambassadors are at the heart of our community.
Regardless of their prior experience, they attend workshops, which are held in our Partner countries. Our Ambassadors in Spain, Italy, Scotland, Greece, Romania and Poland recently had the chance to learn more about the project and their role in it. Most importantly, they will encourage citizen involvement in ECHO's initiatives. Starting January 2025, they will help distribute soil sampling kits and assist in data collection and analysis. Stay up to date on new workshops on our social media:

Last, but not least, pour yourself a cup of borstch and enjoy an interview with the person behind project ECHO's communication and dissemination! We asked Monika about the challenges posed by promoting sustainability and innovation, her everyday work as the head of communication, and - naturally - about her passion for nature.
