Summer is officially here, and our project is also warming up!
In June, we organised a series of activities with the participation of the end users of ECHO soil data. Before this happened, each ECHO partner taking part in this endeavour identified a target group and a case, which is particularly important for their region. Those cases became the main theme of these activities. Here are some of the cases we dug into:
Forest soil health in forest policy development
Soil mapping and monitoring for regulatory and policy purposes
Fostering research on agricultural soil health
Soil health and development of policies focused on agrosystems
Soil health and producers’ engagement in extensive production systems
Forest ecosystems and soil health
Agricultural soil health in Mediterranean agricultural production systems
Promoting society’s interest in soil health and fostering their interest in soil-related data and soil education
The key role of soil ecosystem services in supporting circular agriculture
This series of activities included surveys, workshops, webinars, and discussions. We talked about:
Why is soil data important?
How is soil data used, or how could it be used?
What kind of soil data should be available?
The results of these activities will soon be available on our website. For now, enjoy a few “postcards” from ECHO!
